Can you ship a product from Canada to a US address?
Yes. Rollo Ship creates labels for shipments that start in Canada and deliver to a United States address, using Canada Post, UPS, and your connected Purolator or FedEx account. Before you buy the label, Rollo Ship can estimate duties, taxes and brokerage, and the commercial invoice transmits digitally on UPS shipments. Rollo Ship does not collect duties from the buyer at checkout.
What is a Canadian-origin-only shipping platform?
A Canadian-origin-only shipping platform creates labels for parcels that start in Canada — Canada to Canada, Canada to the United States, and Canada to the rest of the world. It cannot create a label for a shipment that originates in the United States. Rollo Ship supports both Canada and United States origin from a single free account, which matters once inventory sits on both sides of the border.
Which carriers does Rollo Ship support for Canadian shippers?
Rollo Ship compares Canada Post, Purolator, UPS, FedEx and USPS from one account. Canada Post and UPS rates are built in with no separate carrier account required. Purolator and FedEx work by connecting your own account, so you ship on your own negotiated rates. USPS applies to shipments that start in the United States.
Do I need to drop parcels at a branch?
No. Rollo Ship is software, not a courier network, so the parcel moves through the carrier you selected. You arrange a carrier pickup or use that carrier's own drop-off locations. Platforms that operate their own consolidation network often require a branch drop-off or a scheduled route pickup, which ties your shipping to their service area.
Is Rollo Ship free, and what does a label cost?
Rollo Ship has no subscription and no credit card is required to open an account. The first 200 labels carry no platform fee. After that the platform fee starts at 5¢ per label and falls to 1¢ at the VIP tier of Rollo Rewards. You separately fund a Rollo balance to pay the carrier's discounted postage for each shipment.
Can I use Rollo Ship if I am not an ecommerce business?
Yes. Rollo Ship is available to anyone shipping a parcel, whether or not there is a sale behind it — a studio, a clinic, a repair shop, or an individual sending something across the country. Some Canadian shipping platforms restrict accounts to ecommerce businesses shipping against a transaction. Rollo Ship does not require an order to print a label.
Does Rollo Ship have a mobile app for Canadian shippers?
Yes. Rollo Ship runs on web, iOS and Android with the same free plan on all three. You can compare carrier rates, buy discounted labels and print from a phone or from a desktop. Many Canadian shipping platforms are web only, so a label created away from the workstation means waiting until you are back at it.
How much can a Canadian business save on shipping rates?
It depends on weight, destination and service, but the built-in rates are published. Canada Post through Rollo Ship offers up to 34% savings on domestic shipping within Canada and up to 58% on international shipping, without any contracts, fees, or volume minimums. UPS discounts within Canada reach up to 76% off UPS Standard®. Comparing all carriers before printing is what turns those ceilings into an actual saving.
Does Rollo Ship handle customs paperwork?
Rollo Ship supports landed-cost estimates covering duties, taxes and brokerage, and UPS Paperless® Invoice for digital transmission of the commercial invoice. It also supports declared value, signature required, dimensional weight and printed return labels. It does not support Delivered Duty Paid, so duties cannot be collected from the buyer at checkout and remitted by Rollo Ship.
